[EN]New week, new transcription : today we play piano!
Last year I transcribed a very popular song for my mum : Adele‘s superhit “Someone like you”. Whether you like Pop music or not, you’ve got to admit it: Adele’s got something special. The unmistakable voice, the show(wo?)manship, the glamour (and not in a skinny model way, Mr Lagerfeld!), all that in a 20-odd Londoner, I tell you Britain’s got talent !
This piece shouldn’t be too complicated for a regular piano player (which I am NOT). The general feel of the song is quite slow (after all it is a ballad) but beware of the fast 16ths that must be played quite regularly spaced – very little rubato here. PLEASE BE AWARE that the notes are not necessarily exactly those played in the song at all times. Adele’s piano player Dan Wilson changes the voicing all the time, so in order to save paper and reading, I did my best to keep the chords sounding similar to the original (they are all written down). If you play it and sing over it, I promise even the most pedantic listener will not notice!

[FR]Nouvelle semaine, nouveau relevé : aujourd’hui on fait du piano !
L’année dernière j’ai relevé une chanson très populaire pour ma mère: le supertube “Someone like you” d’Adele. Que vous aimiez la musique pop ou non, il faut l’admettre: Adele a quelque chose de spécial. Cette voix unique, cette présence sur scène, ce glamour (et pas comme les top-model squelettiques, M. Lagerfeld!), le tout condensé dans un corps de londonienne d’une vingtaine d’années, la Grande-Bretagne a quelques incroyables talents !
Ce morceau ne devrait pas être trop compliqué pour un pianiste averti (ce que je ne suis PAS). La chanson donne l’impression d’être lente (après tout, c’est une ballade) mais attention aux doubles croches rapides qui doivent être jouées bien régulières – très peu de rubato ici. SOYEZ CONSCIENTS SVP que toutes les notes ne sont pas nécessairement tout le temps celles jouées dans la chanson. Le pianiste d’Adele, Dan Wilson, change les voicings tout le temps, donc pour vous économiser de la lecture et du papier, j’ai fait de mon mieux pour que les accords sonnent pareil que sur l’original (ils sont tous écrits en codage anglo-saxon). Si vous jouez et chantez par-dessus, je vous promets que personne ne s’en rendra compte!
